However, with comedy, it's just too amazing. Take Horimiya , for instance. This anime is just amazing. The comedy, romance, drama, everything is perfect.

But the bad thing about rom-coms is that they finish too quickly . Most of them have 12 episodes.

However, you guys don't have to worry about anything. I've brought a pretty amazing anime for y'all this season.

Komi-san Can't Communicate! This right here, my fellows, is a masterpiece rom-com. It's a perfect blend of comedy and romance. The characters are amazing as well.

This list is about Komi-san Can't Communicate characters . So, let's just talk about them.

Agari Himiko

All of us have seen people who are afraid to go on stage , haven't we? People with low confidence. I, myself, have pretty low confidence , and I'm afraid to go on stage.

Himiko Agari is a similar character . She is afraid of people and gets nervous around them. However, she adores our MC, Komi Shouko , secretly ofc. Another thing about her is that she is BEAUTIFUL , and boys just love her for this, huihuihui!

Agari Matsuri

Another character we can all relate to. Agari Matsuri is the aunt of Himiko Agari . Like Himiko, Matsuri is also a goofball. She runs a stall at festivals, and you'd expect her to be diligent and hard-working , but she is the complete opposite. She even scared all of her employees. Can you imagine, lmao!

She was introduced in Manga Chapter 193.

Ase Shibuki

Now, this one is interesting. Ase Shibuki is one of the side characters and her character just further increases the comical aspect of the manga.

Ase worries a lot. Worries about what? Her self-image . She sweats a lot, so she thinks that people would judge her for this. Most of us here face this problem, don't we?

Even in her introductory chapter, she can be seen as pretty anxious and afraid that people might judge her. People who sweat a lot can imagine this. Manga Chapter 151.

Baba Kingyo

Baba Kingyo is just a background character . However, she is quite famous for her phrase, " DAZ RIGHT" . She also did the chapter update in Manga Chapter 200.

I really like such characters, as they enhance the already great comedy of rom-coms.

Chiarai Shigeo

A guy who just talks about girls in the class. All of us have met such guys in our school and college life, haven't we?

Chiarai Shigeo is another side character who seldom appears in the manga . However, in one chapter, he can be seen talking about girls with his friends. Manga Chapter 77.

I always wonder why do guys always think about girls? Don't they have anything better to do?

I'm also a guy, LOL!

Chusaku Komitani

Another side character! We haven't met any main characters , have we?

Chusaku Komitani is a close friend of Naruse Shitoni (A self-proclaimed protagonist whom we'll meet later in the list)

Chuskau's only major contribution in the story is to tell Tadano Hitohito that Naruse isn't a bad person. other than this, he's just a side character.

Emoyama Yuragi

Now, this character is pretty interesting. Although she's just a side character , she's just too adorable. Emoyama closely observes her classmates  and literally knows everything about them. A bit creepy, right?

Emoyama's famous phrase is "Emo" which she says whenever she sees something emotional. She also wears a headband with E=mc2 written on it.

During a cultural festival, Emoyama and her friends met Komi Shouko and Tadano Hitohito . On that day, Emoyama fainted due to over-exposure to emotional things. Manga Chapter 232.

Gorimi

Do you guys like strong, buff girls or weak , cute girls? For me, they're cute and weak girls . I'm definitely not saying that buffy girls are not beautiful, it's just my personal opinion. CUZ DARN, they're gorgeous too.

Gorimi, the head librarian and the disciplinarian of High School , is a strong and buff girl. She carries a paper fan with her and smacks people's heads whenever they are loud in the library.

She even smacked the Vice-Principal for giving Shoko too many points in the sports festival. Manga Chapter 208.

Ichou Setoka

Aren't student council presidents just amazing? I mean, in every anime, The Student Council President is the most diligent and hard-working student . Well! We can't say the same for the President in Komi-san Can't Communicate . Ichou Setoka is the Student Council President , However, she is the complete opposite of what a Student Council President is supposed to be. She is pretty untidy and prioritizes things that shouldn't be prioritized.

Once she even grabbed the microphone from the Vice Principal just to tell students to sit down as she was tired of standing.

Inaka Nokoko

Well! The people coming from the countryside or from areas which are underdeveloped usually have an inferiority complex . However, In my opinion, they are better than us city people as our lifestyle is pretty unhealthy compared to theirs.

Inaka Nokoko is a friend of our female lead, Komi Shouko . Inaka idolizes Shouko as she wants to become a city girl, and she considers Shouko the perfect example . Due to her complex, she didn't even talk to anyone at school until their school trip to Kyoto, where she realized that nobody actually cares about her accent or anything.

In my opinion, the same should be the case in reality too . But, it depends!

Karisu Masa

As we all know, Komi Shouko is the female lead, and she's pretty beautiful . So it makes sense that we talk about her hairdresser, Karisu Masa.

Karisu's special ability is that she understands what Komi wants, even if she doesn't speak with her. Pretty awesome, right?

What's more, Karisu is an expert and pretty professional as well. Her clients are also pretty happy with her work. That's cute, isn't it?

Katai Makoto

You often see teenagers who are afraid to go to school just because they are afraid of bullying, don't you? Well! I've seen many teenagers like that, and I personally hate bullying.

Katai Makoto is a similar student. As high school started , he was pretty afraid to go to school as he was afraid of bullying and other stuff, so he stayed home. He started working out and dyed his hair . However, this turned out in people considering him a delinquent.

He also shares a similarity with our female lead, Komi Shouk o, that both find it difficult to communicate. Katai even considers Komi his Komyu Master, even though he doesn't like her. Lmaoo!

Katai Ai

Katai Ai is the younger sister of Katai Makoto.

Now I have a question for you guys. Do you guys like cool, tough, and gangster-type girls? If yes then Ai is the perfect waifu for y'all.

Katai Ai usually tries to give the impression of a hardliner as she wears a biker gang uniform . Even her personality is like a gangster. She can be really violent at times. However, she has a sweet side as well. She is pretty romantic, surprised?

Well! Ai loves Komi Shousuke and really admires him. She even made a lunch box for him, but he rejected it, pretty sad! Manga Chapter 198

Katou Mikuni

Katou Mikuni is a part of Komi's field trip party along with Sasaki Ayami . She and Sasaki planned to make the trip as fun as possible for Komi. However, things usually don't go as planned, as Katou and Sasaki got into a fight . Well! Komi ended the fight pretty quickly.

Later in the story, Katou admits that she has feelings for Katai Makoto and was even tricked to sit beside him. Manga Chapter 112

Katou Yakuna

Katou Yakuna is the mother of Katou Mikuni . At first, she appeared pretty strict and stern . However, when Komi and Ayumi visited Katou's Family , she gave both of them Kimonos she had just prepared. And like other moms, she is pretty polite and caring. Manga Chapter

Kishi Himeko

Another side character whose face is usually hidden . She was also mentioned in the list of Komi's friends. She is a part of Ren Yamai's girl group . Manga Chapter 47.5

Another interesting fact about her is that she is often seen wearing a Knight's Armour on her arms and legs . Lmaooo!

Kiyoko Isagi

Another Student Council president of the list. Kiyoko Isagi is basically the descendant of Ichou Setoka. Ichou Setoka was the main motivation for Kiyoko Isagi.

Isagi has severe mysophobia . Mysophobia is basically a fear of filthy and dirty things, so she avoids touching people and doesn't let people touch her.

Once, Ase Shibuki tapped Kiyoko on her shoulder as a greeting, but this didn't turn out well as Kiyoko reacted harshly and called Ase " Filthy ".

Akira Komi

Akira Komi is the cousin sister of Komi Shouko and Komi Shousuke.

At first, she was scared of Shouko as Shouko's inability to talk, and constant staring is pretty creepy.

However, later in the story, they were able to get close during the Obon festival . Manga Chapter 45

Komi Masayoshi

Komi Masayoshi is Komi Shouko and Komi Shousuke's father. Like his children, Masayoshi also faces difficulty in verbal communication. However, he is pretty adept at non-verbal communication.

Despite his looks, Masayoshi is pretty kind and calm. He is also pretty talented . Like seriously, he is an expert at baking , motorcycle repair , and sandcastle building . Interesting, right?

Komi Ryouko

Komi Ryouko is Shouko Komi's aunt. Like her sister, Komi Ryouko is also pretty lively and cheerful.

One interesting fact about her is that she sometimes unknowingly intimidates Shouko, which is pretty funny, lol!

Seriously, I'm not kidding.

Sadayoshi Komi

Sadayoshi Komi is Shouko Komi's uncle . Sadayashi has a personality similar to his brother, Komi Masayoshi, and because of this, Shouko thinks that they get along pretty well.

He debuted in the Manga Chapter 45 during the Onbu festival.

Komi Shouko

Finally, the female lead of this show, Komi Shouko. At this point, you all must've guessed that Komi Shouko can't communicate with other people, and it's not a disorder, it's just her anxiety and fear of rejection .

Her first friend is the male lead of the show, Tadano Hitohito . Despite her communication inability, Shouko has a dream of making 100 friends , and Tadano is the one helping her.

Their interaction is just too wholesome and funny at the same time.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention, Komi is extremely beautiful and has long black hair. Black hair! Ahhhhhhh! Pardon me, I just love black hair.

Komi Shuuko

Komi Shuuko is the mother of Komi Shouko and Komi Shousuke. Unlike both of them, Shuuko talks a lot. Not to mention, she is pretty beautiful as well. Before her marriage, Komi Shuuko's name was Nimi Shouko.

Unlike his husband, Shuuko is pretty childish and does weird things. She even introduced herself as "Forever 17 years old" to Hitohito and Najimi . Lmaooo!

Manga Chapter 22

Komi Yuiko

Komi Yuiko is Komi Shouko and Komi Shousuke's grandmother. As most Grandparents are in anime, strict from the outside but soft and caring from the inside, Yuiko is the same. She cares a lot about her family, especially Shouko . She even understands what Shouko says, even without her uttering a single word. Amazing, right?

Manga Chapter 45

Najimi Osana

Another character you often see in anime and manga. Najimi Osana is what weebs calls a "Trap". It means that their gender is unknown . Some people perceive them as males , while others as female .

Najimi Osana can be considered the complete opposite of Komi Shouko , as she possesses extreme communication skills and can befriend anyone within minutes.

They sometimes wear male clothes, like in Middle school , and sometimes female clothes , like in High school. Pretty weird, right?

Despite all this, they are close friends of Komi Shouko and want to help her achieve her dream of making 100 friends.

One interesting fact about Najimi is that they can listen to up to 8 people speaking at the same time due to her insane communication skills.

Naruse Shisuto

Now, this character is pure comedy. For me, his basic role in the manga is to provide comedy.

Naruse Shisuto is the type of character who is self-obsessed . He considers himself the protagonist of his own story and thinks that other people are his fans. This is the reason most people don't like him. Lmaooo!

In the beginning, he considered himself the same as Komi , as Komi also has many fans, and attempted to talk to her. However, he failed miserably . Later in the series, he becomes a good friend of Tadano Hitohito and Katai Makoto.

His Manga debut was in Manga Chapter 102

Nene Onemine

Nene Onemine is like the mother of the class. She cares a lot about her classmates and is pretty observant . She gets pretty worried about Hitohito who is mostly used as an errand boy.

Unlike Komi and Hitohito who are unaware of each other's feelings, Nene is pretty much aware of what is going on between them and wants to support Komi . Nene can also be seen helping Komi during different class activities , like preparing for the cultural festival.

Omojiri Miwa

Teachers are an important part of our life. Without them, we can't imagine succeeding in life. Omojiri Miwa is a teacher at the Itan Private High School.

She is a really good teacher and is really caring. She finishes her work early and tries to remain as proper and neat as possible. She even helps other teachers in their work.

However, she has a dual persona. How? When she gets home, she becomes the exact opposite person . Like, she doesn't want to get up and do anything. LAZYYYYY!!!

Onigashima Akako

Onigashima Akako is a part of Ren Yamai's group. Akako's debut in manga was in the Manga Chapter 19, in which she plays Saitou with Komi Shouko.

Later on, she appears in the Manga Chapter 121, in which Tadano oberlooks her daily activities. He notices that Akako usually gets along with everyone, however, she can get really upset at minor things, like, tangling of her headphones. Well! Komi was there with her to fix this issue.

Otori Kaede

Now, this is a pretty relatable character. Otori Kaede is the type of girl who daydreams a lot and is a bit slow in everything. Despite all this, she is really kind and cares a lot about her classmates and especially Komi .

Kaede was first seen during Volume 5 of the manga. Volume 5 mainly comprises the sports festival, and Kaede was indicated to be a member of the sports committee. During her work, she asks Komi to help her, and they soon get very close. Kaede is also the second person to get Komi to talk.

Another interesting fact about her is that she can spend hours seeing a single thing or motion , like an oil timer Manga Chapter 88

Ramen Darou

Now we'll talk about a restaurant . Well! Ramen Darou is a chain of restaurants throughout the city. Shouko always dreamt of visiting a ramen restaurant, so Tadano, Najimi, and Agari took him there.

One interesting fact about this restaurant is that it has 5 golden rule s everyone has to follow.

One more thing, the owner of this restaurant also has a communication disability and is really bad at communicating. Soo, Komi and he were able to communicate rather easily without speaking. Manga Chapter 28

Rei Natsukido

Another character who is bad at communication. Rei Natsukido is the daughter of Komi Shuuko's friend. Her parents work overseas, so she often stays at Komi's place.

Like Shouko , she is also bad at communicating and has no friends . Another reason for this being is her parent's overseas work. She has to change schools really often.

Another interesting fact about her is that she's a Tsundere . I think you guys know what Tsundere are, right?

Ren Yamai

I guess you've read this name, Ren Yamai, on multiple occasions during this blog . You might be wondering, who is she? Well! I'll tell you a bit about her.

Ren Yamai is the leader of the girls of class 1-1 . Ren is a huge fan of Komi Shouko and even worships her. She calls her Komi-sama and despises anyone who gets close to her. Hitohito became a target of her hatred. She even kidnapped him in Volume 2 of the manga.

Ren has also made several attempts to catch a glimpse of Komi's panties and touch her boobs . Pretty gross, right? She really is a wierdo .

Rumiko Manbagi

Rumiko Manbagi is also a part of the main group besides Komi Shouko, Tadano Hitohito and others. She is the first person whom Komi befriended alone , without anyone's help.

Unlike Komi, Rumiko talks a lot and is quite energetic. But, doesn't that mean they are Komi, and she is quite different? However, they share some similarities , like both of them desperately want friends .

Rumiko also has a crush on Tadano Hitohito, huihuihui!

Manga Chapter 206

Sasaki Ayami

Sasako Ayami is another side character. She was a part of Komi Shouko's group during the field trip. Sasaki and Katou Mikuni even made a pact to make this trip as fun as possible for Komi . Manga Chapter 104

Sasaki was also the one who saved Komi when ninjas tried to kidnap her. Though later it was revealed that those ninjas were actors , Lmaoo!

Manga Chapter 109

One interesting fact about Sasaki is that she is an expert with Yoyos . Yess! Those Yoyos . She even got 3rd place in the World Yoyo Championship.

Satou Amami

Another side character who seldomly appears in the manga, and mostly as a background character.

Satou is the type of character that trusts people easily and tries to help them even before they ask for it . She even agreed to bring her mother's panties to please her classmate, Lmaoo! Isn't it too much?

Satou is also a clean freak . She arrives early to school just to clean the classroom.

Shinobino Mono

Shinobino Mono is another side character seen seldomly. His most prominent feature is his clothing. He wears a bandana, a black mask, and a black scarf alongwith the school uniform .

He can be seen discussing girls along with Chiarai and Sanoda in Manga Chapters 75 and 77.

Netsuno Chika

Isn't having a friendly rival just amazing ? For me, I've always wanted a rival who can boost me to achieve more. Netsuno Chika is the senior of Komi Shouko and Tadano Hitohito. However, she shares a friendly rivalry with Komi, in athletics.

Netsuno is really athletic and energetic . She also has a weird habit, she judges people by calling them hot or cold. Hot-blooded, here, means enthusiastic.

Her first encounter with Komi was during the sports festival. She tried to greet Komi but got no response. So she considered Komi cold-blooded. However, as the race progressed and she saw Komi trying her best , she acknowledged her.

Their second encounter was during Manga Chapter 212 in another race.

Odoka Shizuka

You often see characters in anime/manga who are obsessed with horror stories and things . Well! In real life as well, you'll see people who love horror movies.

Odoka Shizuka is a similar type of character. She loves horror houses and scaring others. Even her appearance is like a horror movie character.

Her first appearance was during the cultural festival , where was given the role of scaring others. However, when it was Komi's turn, she started wondering whether to scare her or not. In the meanwhile, Komi got past her. Manga Chapter 70

Omoharu Nakanaka

Now this character is unique. You don't often see Chuunibyous in a rom-com . Well! Now you see one, Lmaooo! Like other Chuunibyou characters, Omoharu lives in her own little world . In her world, she calls herself Arsot Les Primavera and Komi Shouko, Princess Komilia . Manga Chapter 31

Despite her looks, she is pretty popular in class. Omaharu is also a close friend of Komi Shouko . Both of them got close during the PE period when Omoharu was unable to find a partner.  Omoharu also calls her and Komi's bond a "Blood Oath"

Komi Shousuke

Komi Shousuke is the brother of Komi Shouko . Shousuke prefers to stay quiet most of the time but unlike his sister, he can communicate well.

However, like his sister, Shousuke is pretty popular with girls and boys alike . Another difference between the siblings is that Shouko wants to make friends, however, Shousuke likes to stay alone.

He is pretty capable as well. He is talented in a lot of things including model repairing, Making violins, and many others.

Sonada Taisei

Another background character on our list. Sonada is a close friend of Chiarai and Shinobino. The three of them can be seen discussing girls in Manga Chapter 75 and 77.

Sukida Lily

I really hate people who ship anyone they see. Like who gave you permission, Lmao!!

Well! I should just respect their opinion.

Sukida is the type of character who can be seen in the background, shipping characters .

She even mistook Tadano Hitohito for a girl , when he was cross-dressing , and wanted to ship him with Komi Shouko. Manga Chapter 232. She even ships Komi Shouko and Gyaru Manbagi , Lolll!!

Suteno Gorou

Gangsters ! Every school has them, right? Wait! Yours didn't have em? Lmaoo! Well! In this manga, Suteno Gorou is the biggest delinquent of the school's first year along with four other students. They are known as the Heavenly Kings.

They were able to defeat 172 first graders within one month. Now, they wanted to rule the second year. On reaching the second year classroom, they met Katai Makoto and mistook him for Komi ( Komi was rumored to be strong ). Well! Katai, being quite strong, didn't even feel their punches. The kings then decided to flee. Manga Chapter 146-148

Tadano Hitohito

Tadano Hitohito is the Male Protagonist of the story. He is also the first friend Komi Shouko makes.  In the first chapter of the manga, Hitohito is described to be a coward , who wants to live a normal life, out of the sight of others. However, his dream was shattered as he observed Komi's disability and decided to help her. Manga Volume 1

Hitohito has no real talent , however, he possesses an extreme skill of reading the atmosphere, which helps him a lot. He is also extremely talented at buying gifts .

Tadano Hitomi

Tadano Hitomi is the younger sister of our MC Tadano Hitohito . Like Hitohito, Hitomi possesses the extreme skill of reading atmosphere. However, the way she uses it is not good at all. Unlike Hitohito, who cares a lot about what people think about him, Hitomi doesn't care about other people and tries to enjoy her life. Due to her cheerful and energetic nature , she is liked a lot by her classmates.

Unlike her brother, she is not very good at reading people's minds as she thinks the reason Shousuke doesn't talk to her is his communication disorder. In reality, Shousuke just avoids her, Lmaooo!

Takarazuka Maya

Takarazuka Maya is a female side character . Yess! A female character. Though she was given the role of a prince , she is indeed a girl.

Takarazuka Maya is the one who played the role of the princess. Takarazuka is a very calm and cool individual. She displayed extreme patience during her practice sessions with Komi.

She even modified the play a bit to suit Komi. Manga Chapter 221

Teshigawara Hoshiko

Teshigawara Hoshiko is another side character who appeared in just two chapters. She is there entirely for the comedy .

Teshigawara is a girl who is often in need of handkerchiefs as she sweats a lot.

She was first seen during the Manga Chapter 43 when Komi Shouko was handing out tissues to people. As Komi is really good at reading non-verbal signals , she immediately realized that Hoshiko is in need of a tissue.

She later on appeared in Manga Chapter 174 where she appeared along with Omoharu Nakanaka who attempted to shoot her with an umbrella .

Toutoi Son

Another character who's there just for comedy. Toutoi Son literally looks like Buddha . However, despite his looks, he isn't a bit like Buddha .

His debut in the manga was during the Manga Chapter 130 when he was forced to introduce himself by telling a story.

He even became the MC for a chapter titled, "Summer Uniform Wearing Grand Prix".
